Singer Guru Randhawa is facing mounting criticism over his latest songs, with ‘Azul’ drawing widespread backlash for its controversial content. Amid the uproar, the singer has taken to social media to share cryptic posts, while legal scrutiny also looms over his track ‘Sirra.

Cryptic social media posts

Recently, Guru Randhawa shared on his Instagram Stories in Punjabi that whenever he is happy, others seem to be sad. His post read, 'Jado mein sab nu khush karn lagga, dukhi ho gya. Ajj mein khud khush hann, sab dukhi ho gaye. (When I tried making everyone happy, I was sad. Today, when I am happy, everyone else is sad). God'.Earlier, Guru had shared another note saying that the song was trending, for which he is thankful to God.

He wrote, “Azul is Azuling (wine glass emoticons). When God is with you, you only move forward (red heart emoji).” He has not yet issued an official statement regarding the controversy.

About the music video

In the music video, Guru Randhawa plays a photography teacher visiting a girls’ school to take a class photo. Actor Anshika Pandey, portraying a student, performs a dance sequence that leaves his character mesmerised. Guru wrote and composed the song, with additional lyrics by Gurjit Gill.

Legal troubles continue

The controversy surrounding ‘Azul’ isn’t Guru Randhawa’s only legal trouble. His song ‘Sirra’ is also under scrutiny, with the sub-divisional judicial magistrate directing him to appear in person or through a lawyer for the examination of the complaint filed against him.
