For those unaware, the UPI AutoPay feature was introduced by NPCI and it allows the users to set up standing instructions for recurring payments directly via your UPI-enabled bank account. The feature eliminates the need for manual approval for all the fixed monthly payments including, EMI, subscriptions and more.
How to setup UPI AutoPay feature
- Open your UPI app Use any UPI-enabled app like PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, etc.
- Go to the AutoPay section This may be under “Mandates,” “Subscriptions,” or “AutoPay” depending on the app
- Choose the service provider Select the merchant or biller you want to automate payments for (e.g., Tata Sky, LIC, Groww).
4. Enter payment details
- Amount
- Frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
- Start and end date
- UPI ID or bank account
