Former Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Harish Rao refused to be drawn into the comments made against him by K. Kavitha and said he would leave the matter to the wisdom of those making wild allegations.
Mr. Harish Rao, who returned to Hyderabad from London on Saturday (September 6, 2025) morning, did not take the name of Ms Kavitha but rejected the allegations made by her when he was in London. Mr. Rao said the truth differs from allegations made by political parties , and who will benefit from such allegations is known.
Kavitha’s allegations against Harish Rao
Ms. Kavitha earlier alleged that Mr. Harish Rao — as the Irrigation Minister in the government led by BRS (then TRS) — should take responsibility for the corruption in the Kaleshwaram project. She alleged that KCR was being made scapegoat in the alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram project. This was a deliberate attempt to malign KCR, whose only focus was Telangana’s development, she said.
Ms. Kavitha, who was suspended from the BRS after her outbursts against Mr. Harish Rao and also her another cousin J. Santosh Rao, resigned from the party and also as the Member of Legislative Council (MLC).
Harish Rao’s reaction
The former Minister said that he had been a disciplined soldier of the BRS for 25 years and its chief K Chandrashekar Rao, and that he contributed to the State’s development in whatever position he was in.
Mr. Harish Rao also targeted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy alleging that all the institutions and systems established during KCR’s tenure are being systematically and deliberately demolished. He said farmers are suffering due to urea shortage and floods that caused huge losses.
The focus should be on helping these sectors rather than mudslinging and efforts should be made to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
