A 17-year-old girl was shot by a man in Faridabad who had allegedly been stalking her for several days. The incident took place outside a private library that both the girl and the accused regularly attended for study sessions, and was recorded on CCTV.

Authorities reported that the suspect was aware of the girl's daily routine and waited in advance for her arrival.

The CCTV footage, which surfaced shortly after the shooting, shows the man waiting before the girl appeared on the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had been monitoring the girl's movements and had prior knowledge of the route she took to and from the library.

The girl, currently receiving medical treatment, identified the assailant and stated that she had recognised him due to his previous harassment.

"I know the boy, he had been troubling me for a long time," she told police.

Police officials disclosed that after firing at the girl, the accused discarded the weapon at the scene. The officers recovered a homemade pistol from the site shortly after the attack.

A police spokesperson confirmed that teams have been formed to apprehend the accused.
