Lando Norris silenced the doubters on track, but not in the stands at Mexico.
The McLaren driver claimed a commanding victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, reclaiming the Drivers’ Championship lead from teammate Oscar Piastri by a single point.
But as he celebrated a lights-to-flag win — finishing over 30 seconds clear of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc — boos rang out around the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
‘They Have the Right to Think Whatever They Want’
Asked about the jeers and accusations that he “owes" Piastri three points from the controversial Monza race, Norris didn’t flinch.
YES LANDO!!!(a reporter said the reason the mexican crowd was booing him was because they want him to give back the 3 points to oscar from monza)

“If they want to think that, they certainly have the right to," Norris said.
“They can think whatever they want. From us as a team, we always try to do things fairly. It was no different to Budapest two years ago when I had to let Oscar through so he could win.
“In Monza, I deserved to be ahead. Simple as that," he added.
Despite the noise, the Briton kept his focus.
“I love it. What a race. I just keep my eyes forward and focus on what I’m doing. It’s working right now, so I’m happy."
Piastri Admits Recent Struggles
While Norris celebrated, Piastri endured another tough outing: finishing fifth, more than 40 seconds behind his teammate.
“The last couple of races have been surprising in terms of pace," Piastri admitted. “I’ve had to drive the car very differently these last few weekends, which is difficult when it’s worked well for 18 races. We tried a few things today, and we’ll see if that’s what we were looking for."
As the title fight tightens with four races remaining, one thing’s clear: Norris has the edge — and the confidence — to tune out the boos and keep his foot down.
Meanwhile, defending champion Verstappen remains firmly in the title fight — sitting third in the standings, 36 points behind new leader Norris.
