Headmaster suspended in Tiruvannamalai for social media posts against State government

The Headmaster of a Government High School at Kalasamudram village near Polur town in Tiruvannamalai was suspended for making objectionable comments against the State government in social media platforms.

Education officials said that the suspended headmaster was identified as S. Arul Arasu. Based on an inquiry, Swami Muthazhagan, Tiruvannamalai Chief Educational Officer (CEO), issued an order for suspension against the headmaster.

Initial inquiry revealed that the headmaster has been making comments against government welfare schemes and other initiatives in various social media platforms regularly. After residents complained about it to the district education office, an inquiry was conducted before the headmaster was placed under suspension. Further probe is under way, education officials said.
