Global music sensation Adele is venturing into acting with her debut in Tom Ford's upcoming period drama, 'Cry to Heaven.' Adele to make her acting debut
As per reports shared by Deadline on November 12, the famed singer will be making her acting debut in the upcoming film titled ‘Cry to Heaven.’ The new project is being directed by none other than Tom Ford, who will be taking the lead in directing for the first time in nearly a decade. Adele will be joined by some of the biggest names in the industry currently. As per the report, names like Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Owen Cooper, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannemann, and Lux Pascal have been confirmed for the film.The film will also be a direct adaptation of the book ‘Cry to Heaven’ by author Anne Rice, and will be a period piece set in the 18th century in Italy. The film has already begun its pre-production stages in London and Rome, and will enter the principal photography stage in January. While the official date of the release has not yet been confirmed, the creators of the film are aiming for a release somewhere around late autumn next year.
Premise of the book ‘Cry to Heaven’
The period piece is based on the lives of two boys, Guido Maffeo, a peasant boy, and Tonio Treschi, a Venetian nobleman. The story revolves around the two as a teacher and student, as well as lovers, in the world of opera and soprano singing.
