Henry Ruggs III, a former NFL wide receiver, was again seen in public after being quickly released from jail. This occurred nearly four years after he crashed his car while drunk in Las Vegas, killing a 23 year old woman and her dog.

Henry Ruggs III's public appearance surprised many since this was the first time he spoke publicly since being sentenced. At that time spent talking to members of the media, Henry Ruggs III’s, who is now 26, used it as an opportunity to make a public apology to the victim's family. After his media time, he went back into the jail quietly to continue serving time.

On June 14, 2025, Henry Ruggs III was released from jail for just over 4 hours to speak at the "Hope for Prisoners" event at the Billy Walters Center for Second Chances in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He continued, "I am so sorry for what I did. I know when her loved ones see news of me or my name it has to bring them pain. And that hurts me too."

The fatal crash occurred in a Las Vegas neighborhood with a speed limit of 45 mph. However, Henry Ruggs lll’s vehicle was traveling 150 mph.

Testing Henry Ruggs lll’s blood alcohol level will show he had also been drinking. His blood alcohol level was 0.16%, double the legal limit in Nevada.

The mother of Tina sent a brief message after the court case stating "We hope Henry Ruggs gets to watch his daughter grow up. And perhaps something good can come from this pain." in May 2023.
