1. Prohibitory orders imposed in Maddur town in Mandya following stone-pelting during Ganesha procession

Prohibitory orders were imposed in Maddur town after a stone pelting incident was reported during Ganesha idol immersion procession on September 7 night. At least eight persons, who suffered injuries due to stone pelting, have been discharged from the hospital after medical treatment. Mandya SP Mallikarjun Baladandi said a total of 21 persons had been taken into custody.

According to police, trouble began when the Ganesha procession, which had been taken out from Siddhartha Nagar in Maddur town, was passing through Ram Rahim Nagar. When the procession crossed a mosque in the area, stones were reportedly pelted on the persons dancing in the procession, sparking a retaliation.

2. Bengaluru boy hits head on overhead barrier while standing through car sunroof

A young boy sustained a minor head injury after slamming into an overhead restricted beam while standing through the sunroof of a moving car, at Attur layout in Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru on September 7, 2025). Since the car was moving slowly, the boy, who was traveling with his family, had a narrow escape with no fatal injuries.

Passers-by who noticed the incident recorded a video, which went viral on social media and drew criticism against the family’s negligence. Netizens criticised the parents for failing to notice the beam even as the boy’s head was peeking through the sunroof .The injured boy was taken to a nearby hospital and discharged after being given medical care.

3. Bangladeshi woman who escaped from prostitution racket rescued by Bengaluru police

In a case of international human trafficking, a 30-year-old woman from Bangladesh, who was trafficked into the city for prostitution, escaped and landed at the Hulimavu police station seeking help on September 7, 2025). The victim was in a semi-conscious state and approached a traffic policeman on duty, who then alerted his counterparts who took her to the station.

The victim told the police that she was lured by a gang promising her a job as a beauty parlour staff for a salary of ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 a month and was brought from Dhaka along with several others. However, after landing at a house in HSR Layout, she realised she was in the wrong place. The police have now handed her over to a city-based NGO for further deportation process.

4. 6.17 acres sanctioned for Quantum City at Hessarghatta, says Karnataka Minister Boseraju

The Government of Karnataka has sanctioned a patch of 6.17 acre of land at Hessarghatta for the establishment of a Quantum City (Q-City), Science and Technology Minister N.S. Boseraju announced on September 7, 2025.

Q-City, he said, will be Karnataka’s dedicated hub for state-of-the-art research laboratories, startup incubation, industry–academia collaboration. It will also feature production clusters for quantum hardware and processors abd Quantum HPC data centres.
