Himachal Pradesh mishap: 15 injured as bus falls into gorge in Mandi; massive rescue operation launched

SHIMLA: At least 15 passengers of a private bus were injured after it went off the road and rolled down a hill in the Kalkhar area of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday morning.The local villagers first called the emergency services and helped rescue the injured persons trapped inside the bus. A district official said that all the injured were being taken to the govt medical college and hospital in Nerchowk.The official said that so far there was no casualty in the accident.The private bus was on its way from Jahu in Hamirpur district to Mandi. When it reached Pattrighat near Kalkhar, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and the bus went off the road.The accident occurred at around 9 am.Upon receiving the information, police and administrative teams also reached the spot and engaged in the relief work. However, heavy rainfall acted as an obstacle in the rescue and relief operation.A police officer said that the exact cause of the accident was still not known, even as the local administration ordered an inquiry into the incident.
