The shift in tone stood in contrast to her earlier congressional testimony, where Gabbard claimed Iran was not actively pursuing nuclear weapons.

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence and a known supporter of Israel, found herself in the crosshairs of social media users who mocked her as a “Hindu Zionist" following her shifting stance on Iran’s nuclear capabilities and President Donald Trump’s public rebukes.

Gabbard was first criticiwed after Trump dismissed her position on Tehran’s nuclear intentions. “I don’t care what Tulsi Gabbard thinks about Iran’s nuclear power," Trump said, before adding the next day that “Tulsi Gabbard was wrong in saying that Iran was not building a nuke."

Amid the fallout, Gabbard posted a clip of her earlier March 2025 testimony to X (formerly Twitter), appearing to walk back her initial remarks. “America has intelligence that Iran is at the point that it can produce a nuclear weapon within weeks to months, if they decide to finalize the assembly. President Trump has been clear that can’t happen, and I agree," she stated in the post.

The dishonest media is intentionally taking my testimony out of context and spreading fake news as a way to manufacture division. The shift in tone stood in contrast to her earlier congressional testimony, where Gabbard claimed Iran was not actively pursuing nuclear weapons. Her reversal brought her closer in alignment with Trump’s repeated warnings, including his latest claim that Iran could obtain a nuclear weapon “within months" due to its expanding stockpile of enriched uranium.

According to reports, Trump is said to be displeased with Gabbard’s messaging, her recent video targeting “elite warmongers," and has allegedly excluded her from key meetings related to Iran and Israel policy discussions.

Responding to the controversy, Gabbard insisted her views had been misrepresented. “My testimony had been taken out of context by the dishonest media creating a wedge between me and the president," she said, clarifying that she and Trump are “on the same page regarding Israel-Iran."

Despite her efforts to reaffirm loyalty to the administration’s Iran stance, Gabbard’s public recalibration triggered sharp reactions online—culminating in the “Hindu Zionist" label that quickly gained traction among critics.

Tulsi Gabbard Mocked Online

Tulsi Gabbard’s abrupt shift on Iran’s nuclear program sparked a wave of criticism online, with one user sharply accusing her of serving Israeli interests. “Tulsi Gabbard is a Hindu Zionist. Trump and Tulsi both serve Israel. Here she is with Miriam Adelson—the woman who owns Trump—and the dildo-selling rabbi," the user wrote, referencing Gabbard’s past associations.

The post further alleged that Gabbard supports the “US-Israeli genocide of Palestine" and condemned her for disowning her earlier testimony, in which she stated Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons.
