Syndrela Das and Divyanshi Bhowmick have made history by claiming the No. 1 spot in the latest ITTF Under-19 Girls’ Doubles World Rankings, released Tuesday.

The Indian duo lead with 3,910 points, ahead of Chinese Taipei’s Wu Jia-En/Wu Ying-Syuan (3,195) and France’s Leana Hochart/Nina Guo Zheng (3,170).

This landmark achievement also highlights a broader surge in Indian youth table tennis: six Indian girls now sit inside the top 100 of the world doubles rankings.

Das and Bhowmick’s rise is backed by consistent performances across domestic and international events, including gold medals at the WTT Youth Contender in Goa and WTT Youth Star Contender in Tunis, plus semifinal finishes in Berlin and Lima.

Other Indians are also climbing the charts: Taneesha Kotecha and Sayali Wani sit 13th (1,575 points) after strong runs at the Asian Youth Championships and WTT Youth Contender Doha.

Suhana Saini and Shriya Anand are 22nd (875 points) following silver at the South Asian Youth Championships, while the new pairing of Saini and Kotecha ranks 31st (620 points) after a runners-up finish at WTT Youth Contender Jaipur.

Al Lis Gan and Stuti Kashyap occupy 34th (565 points), with Kheith Cruz and Vaishnavi Jaiswal sharing 36th (565 points), reflecting consistent performances across Southeast Asia and the broader youth circuit.
