Historic Pushkarini at Konda Bitragunta temple rejuvenated at Rs 2.5 crore

TIRUPATI: The historic temple tank at Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Konda Bitragunta in Nellore district has been rejuvenated and restored coinciding with the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams festivities on Sunday.

Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and his wife and Kovur TDP legislator who spent R 2.5 cr for the rejuvenation of this ancient Pushkarini at this 12th century shrine, took part in a series of religious rituals before the refurbished temple tank was opened for the devotees. Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy recalled that the foundation stone for temple tank reconstruction works was initiated on Aug 10 last year and expressed happiness on the completion of the rejuvenation works coinciding with the ongoing Brahmotsavams.

Kovur legislator Prashanti Reddy underlined that the NDA govt under the leadership of Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had initiated a series of activities to restore the lost glory of several ancient temples across the state. “Going by the principle that temples are not merely places of worship but living symbols of India’s eternal spiritual heritage, the state endowments dept in coordination with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has embarked on an ambitious mission to construct 5000 plus temples and Bhajan Mandirs across the state of Andhra Pradesh with TTD’s Srivani trust funds”, Prashanti Reddy asserted. Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Masthan Rao, Kavali TDP legislator Kavya Krishna Reddy and others took part.
