History-sheeter detained under Goonda Act sent to Ballari jail

A notorious history-sheeter residing in the limits of the Station Bazaar Police has been detained under the Goonda Act and lodged in Ballari Central Prison following orders issued by Police Commissioner S.D. Sharanappa, who is also Additional District Magistrate.

The 37-year-old accused, identified as Ravikumar Tukaram, a resident of Hanuman Nagar in C.J. Colony in the city, has been classified as an A category rowdy by the police.

According to police records, Ravikumar is a habitual offender with a criminal history spanning from 2008 to 2026.

A total of 24 cases, 18 criminal cases, two cases under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, two cases under the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.PC) and two cases under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), has been registered against him.

The police said that he has been involved in several serious offences registered at various police stations, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, theft, assault on women and criminal intimidation.
