Banned outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba’s senior leader Hafiz Talha Saeed recently met with the former Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, at his residence.

“This meeting is LeT’s push to influence local narratives on the Kashmir issue and freedom struggle. LeT is using POK as a recruitment and staging ground using madrassas. After Operation Sindoor which targeted multiple LeT linked sites these are attempts by LeT and allied groups to rebuild capacity in PoK," they said.

The delegation included Qari Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh Chairman of the Rabta Ulema-e-Mashaikh Pakistan and Chairman of Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistan and Irfan-ul-Haq, President of the Social Welfare Department Shuba Khidmat-e-Khalq, Rawalpindi.

During the meeting the overall political and national situation of the country was discussed in detail.

The delegation held discussions regarding the Kashmir issue and the upcoming elections in PoK.

Why the meeting?

According to top Indian intelligence sources, LeT, under leaders like Saeed, is actively working to restore and maintain terror launch pads and training camps in POK areas such as Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and near the Line of Control

Facilities like Markaz-ul-Quds have reportedly been renovated to serve as forward bases for infiltration. They are constructed with local roads, shelters and logistics networks are upgraded specifically to support cross-border movement of terrorists and arms

The meeting between Hafiz Talha Saeed and political figures like Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan in Azad Kashmir is seen as part of LeT’s effort, they said.

Lashkar and Op Sindoor

Even as the NIA has filed a comprehensive chargesheet in the Pahalgam terror attack, investigators are aggressively tracing a global supply chain to determine how a US-manufactured GoPro camera supplied to China ended up in the hands of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit, senior officials said on Sunday.

The high-tech camera recovered from the terrorists, who were neutralised in an encounter in Dachigam forests last July following the attack, has opened a critical new line of inquiry into the external logistics network supporting terror outfits in Jammu and Kashmir. Terror groups in Jammu and Kashmir have increasingly been using cameras to record their ambushes for propaganda and psychological warfare.

Investigators believe that unearthing this specific supply chain could expose critical vulnerabilities or complicity in the underground networks that funnel funds, hardware and tactical gear across borders to anti-India outfits.
