A sample of DNA, which is believed to be Adolf Hitler’s, has been analysed by researchers as per the two-part programme, Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a dictator. Scientists have also gathered a series of genetic findings.

The DNA sample was “obtained shortly after his death" from “the bloodstained couch in his Berlin bunker, where he shot himself," reported The i Paper.

Scientists reportedly confirmed its authenticity by comparing it with DNA from “a known relative," the report added. But the research has also highlighted the fact that “while the sample probably is legitimate, there is debate about how much it can tell us."

One of the most striking claims involved a genetic mutation associated with Kallmann syndrome, described as “a sexual disorder" that can affect sexual development. The report added that the condition “can lead to a short penis, known as a micropenis, if it is less than 9.3 cm."

It mentioned an important caveat, stating that “Kallmann syndrome is a spectrum, so we can’t know how much Hitler was affected."

The condition can also cause undescended testicles, meaning they “remain in the body instead of lowering into the scrotum when babies are still in the womb." Referencing long-standing rumours, the reel adds that Hitler’s medical records confirm he “did have an undescended right testicle."

Hitler Had ADHD?

Researchers then turned to neurodevelopmental conditions, explaining that “conditions like autism and ADHD are usually influenced by hundreds of genes." When the combined effects of those genes were analysed, Hitler’s DNA reportedly showed “a high genetic chance of having both autism and ADHD."

The report added that the DNA indicates a higher genetic risk of serious mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, and schizophrenia. Once again, it stresses that “this genetic prediction isn’t a diagnosis." It does state that Hitler’s own doctor “did diagnose him with manic depression," which the reel says broadly aligns with the genetic findings.

The report added that genetic claims are attention-grabbing, but DNA alone cannot provide definitive conclusions about complex physical traits or mental health conditions.

Social Media Reactions To Hitler’s DNA Claims

The post received many comments, some of which were humorous and sarcastic.

A user wrote, “Imagine being dead for decades and they’re still roasting you."

Another joked, “We got World War II medical secrets before World War III."

Others took a more serious view, with one comment saying the findings “should be used as evidence to legally require medical and mental health screening for positions of power."

Another questioned the relevance of the research, writing, “The man has been dead for 80 years. Why does anyone care, and how much money was spent to find this out?"

Though the reel highlights several genetic claims, it repeatedly cautions that DNA alone cannot offer definitive answers. Thus, it leaves open the question of how much such findings really matter today.
