Troops of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), under the North West Frontier command, celebrated Holi with local families amid the frozen expanse of Pangong Lake.

At 14,300 feet above sea level, colours bloomed against a frozen horizon. On the icy banks of Pangong Lake, the ITBP troops of the North West Frontier celebrated Holi with residents of the nearby villages.

Sharing the video of the celebration, the ITBP took to X and wrote, “Holi at 14,300 ft! Amid the frozen expanse of Pangong Lake (14,300 ft), ITBP troops of North West Frontier celebrated Holi with residents of Vibrant villages."

“Local children presented a lively cultural programme, adding colour & warmth to the high-altitude celebrations," the post added.

Troops of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), stationed in this remote frontier under the North West Frontier command, celebrated Holi with local families.

The ITBP troops were seen dancing and enjoying on Holi songs across the beautiful landscape, momentarily transforming the stark terrain into a stage of joy.

In a place where survival itself demands resilience, Holi became more than a festival — it became a symbol of unity.

Soldiers and villagers stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing sweets, colours, and smiles. Amid the frozen expanse of Pangong Lake, humanity proved that even at 14,300 feet, the spirit of India beats warm and strong.
