Holiday declared for schools in Kozhikode district

District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh has declared a holiday for all schools in Kozhikode district on Thursday. The decision was taken following the rough weather alert issued by the Indian Meteorological department. It will be applicable to anganwadis, madrasas, and tuition centres.

Officials of the District-Level Disaster Management Authority said the rural areas of Kozhikode witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday, prompting the local rescue squads to remain prepared. They also said safety instructions had been issued to people who live close to river banks and landslide-prone areas.
