Several videos have surfaced on social media platform X, capturing the tragic Air India crash in Gujarat on Thursday. The footage shows moments leading up to the crash, the impact, and the devastating aftermath.
The London-bound Air India flight, carrying 242 people—including 232 passengers and 10 crew members—crashed into a residential area just minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at around 2 PM.
According to official reports, at least 133 people have been confirmed dead.
Eyewitnesses and videos show the Boeing 787 Dreamliner (flight number AI171) rapidly losing altitude before crashing in a fireball. Thick black smoke was seen rising high into the sky from the crash site in the Meghaninagar area.
Leaders from across the political spectrum, as well as several global figures, have reacted with shock and sorrow. Many took to X to express their grief and offer condolences to the victims’ families.
More videos from the scene continue to emerge online, showing the scale of destruction and the urgent response by emergency teams.
The plane, which lost altitude shortly after take-off, crashed into the residential quarters of BJ Medical College doctors in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar area, causing severe damage to buildings on the premises.
