The Halasuru police on Monday arrested a horse trainer and two others for allegedly attacking a 47-year-old businessman to avenge sacking the former from the job.
The accused, identified as Jasbir Singh, his brother Sunny, and his assistant Billa were arrested on the charges of 109(1) (Attempt to commit murder) and 3 (5) (Criminal act is done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of BNS based on a complaint by the victim. They were later remanded in judicial custody.
According to the police, the victim, Suchit Jayaraj Sha, a resident of Mumbai and owner of a drinking water supply plant, owned a horse that was used for racing. Sha had employed Jasbir Singh as a horse trainer and sacked him a few months ago over some differences. Following this, Jasbir couldn’t find any other job, and he allegedly threatened Sha over the same.
On Saturday, Sha came to Bengaluru with his friend and stayed in a hotel to attend a two-day race event. Jasbir got to know about his arrival and came to the hotel along with his brother Sunny and assistant Billa to talk to him.
Jasbir allegedly called Sha from the hotel reception, asking him to come down for a talk, and later attacked him in the parking lot. While Sunny and Billa allegedly overpowered Sha, Jasbir, armed with a screw driver, allegedly tried to stab him.
Shah raised an alarm for help, prompting the staff to rush to his rescue, following which the trio escaped, sensing trouble..
