'Hridayapoorvam' cast

The film marks another memorable collaboration between superstar Mohanlal and acclaimed director Sathyan Anthikad. The screenplay is written by Sonu T. P., based on a story by Akhil Sathyan. The cast also features Malavika Mohanan, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, along with veteran actors Siddique, Lalu Alex, Janardhanan, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, and Nishan.

'Hridayapoorvam' plot

'Hridayapoorvam' centres on Sandeep Balakrishnan, a wealthy but irritable businessman running a successful cloud-kitchen chain in Kochi. Despite his riches, Sandeep lives a lonely, isolated life. After a heart transplant, he remains detached, insisting that “a heart is only an organ."Things change when he travels to Pune for the engagement of Haritha, the daughter of the army officer whose heart now beats in him.

Haritha insists that Sandeep attend the engagement so she can feel her father’s presence on the special day. Sandeep’s blunt, detached nature adds humour and tension to the story.

'Hridayapoorvam' review

The Times of India rated the film 3.0/5, writing, “'Hridayapoorvam' firmly has in place all the elements of a Sathyan Anthikad film; with its very human emotions, sweetness and loveable characters. But is that a workable formula among today’s audiences?”It further stated, “Mohanlal plays Sandeep, a cloud kitchen business owner, who has had a heart transplant, so he is always accompanied by ‘home nurse’ Jerry, played by Sangeeth Prathap. This is probably one of the best sidekicks we’ve had in a while in our movies. To get back to the story, one day, Sandeep is paid a visit by Haritha (Malavika Mohanan), the daughter of the colonel, whose heart now beats in Sandeep’s chest.

She insists that he go to her engagement in Pune, so that she can feel the presence of her father on this special day.”
