Veer Hanuman continues to impress with its powerful cast and the lesser-known stories of young Hanuman. Besides the other characters, one that stands out is Queen Kaikeyi, played by Hunar Hali Gandhi, who has stepped into the show.
known for her strong screen presence and depth of performance, Hunar brings a refreshing perspective to one of mythology’s layered characters.A refreshing perspective on the conventional portrayal of Kaikeyi, she is introduced as a fierce warrior queen, a devoted wife, and a deeply loving mother, full of complexity and emotional nuance. It is a role layered with emotional conflict, courage, and maternal instinct, making Kaikeyi pivotal to the show’s larger arc.Hunar Hali Gandhi, reflecting on her portrayal of Kaikeyi, shared: "I’m incredibly grateful to God that I got this opportunity for this role. Kaikeyi is one of the most layered and powerful characters I’ve played in my 18-year journey. She’s not just the queen people think they know—she’s a fiery warrior, a devoted mother, and a woman whose decisions are driven by fierce love and duty. When I heard the narration, I was moved beyond words.
It was an instant yes. The shoot can be challenging, but the energy on set is incredible. We laugh, we learn, and we push each other to give our best. This role has not only given me artistic satisfaction but also reminded me of the importance of balance between family and career, emotion and duty."Hunar earlier exclusively shared that she doesn't like to take long breaks between her projects, instead, she loves being a workaholic, she said, "No no, I'm a workaholic. Work takes priority over everything else, breaks are never in my dictionary. I can't stay still in one place at a time. I need to keep moving, keep doing something. I stay positive, stay focused, and tend to always occupy myself with something or other.
Being an actor is quite challenging, you need to be physically, mentally and emotionally fit. Yoga and meditation are good enough starters for me to face my day head-on." For more updates, keep reading this space.
