After two months of silence, Andrew Cabot, the estranged husband of Astronomer HR executive Kristin Cabot, has spoken out about the viral Coldplay "Kiss-cam" incident. In what can be termed as a twist in the case, he appeated to defend his wife.

In a statement, he said that they were already separated before the event. Andrew, 61, told People that he and his wife were "privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert" in Boston where she was filmed with her boss, since-fired CEO Andy Byron. The representative also stated that while divorce papers were filed nearly a month after the incident, the decision to divorce had already been made."Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued," the spokesperson said.

Kristin Cabot filed for divorce in August

Kristin, 52, filed for divorce on August 13, almost a month after the Coldplay Kiss Cam video went viral. The kiss-cam event, which made her and Andy Byron go viral, took place on July 16. At the time, Andrew, a heir to the Privateer Rum fortune, was reportedly on a business trip in Japan. He was reportedly unaware of the incident until he returned home.The Cabots had purchased a $2.2 million home in New England just five months before the scandal. This is Andrew’s third divorce. He has two children from a previous marriage.
