A family of four from Hyderabad died in a car accident in the United States after their vehicle was hit by a truck and caught fire.

The victims — Tejaswini, Sree Venkat, and their two children — were on vacation in Dallas and were returning from visiting relatives in Atlanta when the accident occurred.

All four died at the scene, said officials, adding that arrangements are being made to bring their bodies back to Hyderabad for the last rites.

In a separate incident, two Indian students from Cleveland State University died in a road accident in New York, the Indian Consulate confirmed on Tuesday.

The students were identified as Manav Patel (20) and Saurav Prabhakar (23), according to a report by news agency PTI.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office said the crash took place on May 10 in East Cocalico Township. Prabhakar, who was driving, and Patel died at the scene.

Another passenger seated in the front was injured and taken to a local hospital.

CCTV footage showed the car leaving the road, hitting a tree, and crashing into a bridge.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate road accident in which two Indian students from Cleveland State University, Manav Patel and Saurav Prabhakar, lost their lives," the Indian Consulate posted on X.
