Heavy rains that lashed parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, on Wednesday caused disruption to flight operations at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). Airport authorities confirmed that three flights were cancelled and nine others were diverted due to adverse weather conditions.
The cancelled flights include IndiGo flights 6E 6684 (Hyderabad–Kochi), 6E 6486 (Hyderabad–Chennai) and 6E 6727 (Hyderabad–Ahmedabad).
Of the nine diverted flights, six were diverted to Vijayawada airport. These include IndiGo 6E 2065 (Delhi–Hyderabad), 6E 6747 (Jammu–Hyderabad), 6E 6819 (Kanpur–Hyderabad), 6E 6421 (Coimbatore–Hyderabad), 6E 6232 (Goa–Hyderabad) and 6E 6906 (Jammu–Hyderabad).
Three other flights, IndiGo 6E 432 (Patna–Hyderabad), 6E 5097 (Mumbai–Hyderabad) and SpiceJet SG 547 (Ahmedabad–Hyderabad), were diverted to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport.
One flight, IndiGo 6E 6906 from Jammu to Hyderabad, was diverted to Tirupati Airport.
