The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday removed encroachments in Rajendranagar mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

In a major anti-encroachment operation, HYDRAA reclaimed four parks that had been occupied in the Janachaitanya Layout Phases I and II, located in Budvel and Upparpally villages.

According to a statement shared by HYDRAA, about 19,878 square yards of land was recovered from illegal occupants. The parks, part of the 120-acre Janachaitanya Layout developed with Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s approval, had reportedly been encroached upon over the years. HYDRAA received complaints from residents through its Prajavani grievance reporting system, prompting a joint inspection with Revenue and municipal authorities.

Following on-site verification, HYDRAA confirmed the illegal encroachments and launched demolition operations. Structures including boundary walls, sheds, and rooms constructed on plots measuring 3,000, 1,000, and 500 square yards respectively were razed to the ground. Following the operation, HYDRAA has initiated fencing the reclaimed land to prevent further encroachments.
