Curry responded to Fallon, "Well making a game-winning shot, that’s what I get paid to do.

Supposed to do that, but a hole-in-one, you can’t make that happen. That’s maybe a little bit of skill, mostly luck, so I celebrated as if, I blacked out basically." He mentioned that he skipped his usual "night night" celebration because there are still some holes left in the round.Curry mentioned to Fallon who his playing partner is: "My playing partner who was with me, he had to hit after me, but I ran all the way to the green.

He chased me halfway down the fairway. He didn’t know what to do, he was like, ‘Wait, I have to go all the way back?'".

Stephen Curry's Immediate Reaction on the Course

After the ball rolled into the hole, Curry celebrated by dashing the whole length of the fairway to the green. He spread his arms out like an airplane during his run and seemed a little out of breath when he arrived. Curry was paired with Joe Pavelski, a player from the Dallas Stars NHL team, who chased him for a bit down the fairway.

Pavelski then had to go back to the tee to hit his own shot.

Joe Pavelski recalls Stephen Curry’s speed after historic hole in one

Right after the event, Joe Pavelski jumped in to break the silence, talking to the media at the tournament on July 15, 2023. He reflected on the moment, "You see it land, and it just disappears. It was pretty cool. We were trying to get to Steph. He just kind of spins out of it and takes off. He’s got some good speed on him." He pointed out that trying to match Curry's speed without skates is quite a challenge, similar to the struggles faced by NBA defenders.

Media outlets reported the event live, with NBC Sports broadcasting the hole-in-one and sharing it on social media. An NBC Sports post on X on July 15, 2023, stated: "STEPH CURRY HOLE-IN-ONE! The first EVER on the 152-yard 7th at the @ACChampionship!"
