Fanum responds to Duke Dennis’ arrest situation

The gaming and streaming community has been filled with chatter since this weekend's Arrest of Twitch star Duke Dennis in San Antonio, Texas. Now hardly has AMP affiliate and streamer Roberto "Fanum" broke silence over the situation and then clarified his stance of going far away from the legal mess.

The Arrest That Sparked the Internet

Duke Dennis, being the stage name, really means Denzel Shaquille Dennis. He was arrested on Saturday, August 2, at the Shops at Rivercenter mall. According to reports, the 31-year-old had been involved in a hide-and-seek game with his friends, Kai Cenat among them, when mall security allegedly approached the group and asked them to leave due to complaints received about their behaviors. When the police arrived at about 10 p.m.,

they claimed that the group continued to disrupt and that Dennis refused to heed warnings asking him to leave. He was named in a charge of criminal trespassing and evading arrest. Some online videos show Dennis handcuffed on the mall floor while Kai Cenat films from an upper level.

Dennis was released on August 3 after posting a $1,000 bond for each charge.

Fanum Speaks Out but Carefully

Fans have been waiting for AMP members to issue any statements ever since the news came out.

On August 4, during a livestream, Fanum briefly alluded to the matter but hastened to say that he wouldn't really get into the legal specifics."Word, chat, it's definitely... see, I don't speak on legal s**t, bro, ever. You know what I'm saying? I let the... whenever the person was involved in whatever situation, which is not really a situation at all, to be honest. You know what I'm saying? Word, chat, it's nothing crazy."

His tone probably indicated confidence in that the situation had been blown out of proportion and that Dennis hadn't really done anything serious.

Support Without the Speculation

Although he decided not to delve into any details, this is a typical stance of creators in the midst of legal controversies to provide support without feeding the speculation online. His position also points to AMP standing by Dennis as the legal matters proceed. As it stands, no formal statements have been issued whatsoever from both Dennis and Kai Cenat regarding their arrest.

However, the AMP fanbase continues to support the group, awaiting further information. One of the questions this incident raises is where the line is drawn with content creation, especially in public spaces. In an environment where streamers try pushing the envelope to entertain their fans, Duke Dennis' arrest may well be the wake-up call of legal considerations to respect when making viral content.
