The 1997 classic ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ is set to have a blazing sequel, where the horrific incident is going to haunt the friends again. The film would be released on July 18, 2025, and the old stars are joined by the dazzling new members to take the notch up.
The synopsis of the film states, “When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret. A year later ... as one by one the friends are stalked by a killer ... they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help,” according to People.Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the new star cast is Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and many more. The cast who would be reprising their roles are Freddie Prinze Jr. as Ray and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James.

Madelyn Cline, who is renowned for her role in ‘Outer Banks,’ has previously starred in 2022's ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,’ in addition to making appearances in ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Originals.’ In her personal life, she made headlines for being in a relationship with her ‘Outer Banks’ co-star, Chase Stokes, and Pete Davidson. Chase Sui Wonders, who is renowned for her role in ‘Genera+ion,’ has appeared in ‘On The Rocks,’ ‘Betty,’ ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies,’ and more.
In her personal life, Chase also made headlines for having an on-and-off relationship with Pete Davidson before calling it quits in August 2023. Freddie Prinze Jr., who is renowned for his role in ‘She’s All That,’ has been a previous cast member of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’ On the set, he met his co-star turned wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and they also co-starred in ‘Scooby-Doo.’ “They went through a pretty traumatic experience, if they were able to survive that and stay together, they'd be a better couple than me and my wife in real life. Maybe they toughed it out, it's Hollywood, they like happy endings,” he said about his character while having a conversation with Entertainment Tonight.
