US President Donald Trump has dismissed speculation that he intends to part ways with his red Tesla Model S, stating instead that he might simply “move it around a little bit." Speaking at a White House press briefing on Monday, Trump was asked directly if he planned to get rid of the electric car he purchased on March 11 from Elon Musk, his then-close ally.

“No, I may move it around a little bit," Trump replied. When asked where it might be relocated, he added cryptically, “I have a lot of locations." The car was spotted parked at the White House over the weekend amid rumours of a fallout between Trump and Musk.

Despite escalating tensions between the two, Trump also clarified he has no intention of discontinuing Starlink, Musk’s satellite internet venture operated under SpaceX, at the White House.

“I don’t think we’ll be doing that with Starlink. It’s a good service," Trump said, referring to the high-speed broadband provider that has become integral in remote and emergency communications.

The relationship between Trump and Musk has soured in recent weeks, following Musk’s sharp criticism of Trump’s so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill", which the Tesla and SpaceX CEO labeled an “abomination" over concerns about the federal deficit. Trump responded with threats to revoke Musk’s government contracts, prompting Musk to warn that SpaceX could withdraw its Dragon program in retaliation.

When asked Monday if he still intends to speak with Musk, Trump replied, “If I were him, I would want to speak to me. Maybe he’s already called. You’d have to ask him." He added, “We had a good relationship, and I just wish him well."

Musk later responded with a heart emoji on X (formerly Twitter) to a clip of Trump’s remarks — a subdued gesture in an otherwise very public fallout between two of the most prominent figures in American politics and tech.
