Michael Jordan is one of the biggest and most renowned legends in the NBA. Back in the 1990s, when Jordan was in his prime, almost every aspirant wanted to be like him. Among them, current MLB player Andruw Jones was also a huge fan of MJ.

However, he recently recalled his meeting with the six-time NBA champion at a location that actually was a surprise revelation in regards to Michael Jordan.

In a recent appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, Andruw Jones spoke about his admiration for Michael Jordan. In the mid-2000s, he became a Jordan athlete, citing it as a dream come true. However, he left millions stunned when he revealed specific details about his meeting with Jordan to discuss business.Jones stated that he had met Jordan earlier in locations like clubs saying, “I’m playing in Chicago, and he said, ‘Hey, come meet me at this location. I’ve met MJ before, in places like clubs and stuff like that. Then, we walk through, but I never sat down and talked with him.”

However, when Jordan had called Jones to discuss money regarding the aforementioned deal, the Chicago Bulls legend chose to meet him while getting a manicure done at the same time. “You know, I see his hands down. I didn’t know what he was doing. He was getting a manicure underneath the table,” said Andruw Jones.

Michael Jordan revealed to be envious of younger NBA players

Despite retiring in 1993, Michael Jordan returned to the court in 2001.

In his book, “When Nothing Else Matters”, the NBA legend revealed that his envy of younger players like Kobe Bryant and Vince Carter was a significant influence on him to make his comeback. “I read something about Kobe or Vince Carter, and it gets the competitor in me going, you know," Jordan told Leahy in their conversation.

His drive to return to the court proved monumental for the two seasons he returned. Jordan scored 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 142 matches with the Washington Wizards.
