On Sunday, the winning streak of the San Antonio Spurs was ended by the New York Knicks. The Spurs won the last 11 games before the Knicks broke the streak. Reflecting on the loss, the team’s star player, Victor Wembanyama, broke his silence on the loss during his recent appearance.
He believed that both he and his teammates were somewhat hesitant during the game. Victor believed that most of the Spurs' disadvantage came in the first quarter.The final score of the game was 114-89. Victor, along with the Knicks’ Mikal Bridges, was the highest scorer of the game with 25 points. Jalen Brunson followed up with 24 points. After the last match, the win-loss streak for the Spurs is now at 43-17. They are currently occupying the second place within the Western Conference.

In one of his recent appearances, San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama broke his silence on the team’s recent loss. Their 11-game winning streak was ended by the New York Knicks. The Knicks won the game with a 25-point lead. Victor stated, “I think they did put some physicality, but not even the most that we've seen.” The star player believed that there was some amount of effort from everyone within the team, but it was not enough.
He continued, “For some reason, we were somewhat hesitant. I think it was a general team thing. And for myself, I was especially hesitant on three’s for some reason.”
Victor further added, “I think I was holding the ball too much when I shouldn’t.” The athlete believed that the team’s mistakes gave the Knicks an opportunity to have the upper hand and control within the game. Towards the end, Victor added, “We gave them life.
We should have been better, especially in the first quarter. That was the game." Victor identified the shortcomings of the team like a true leader and it promises a strong performance from the team in the upcoming games.
