  Official title, release date and more deets revealed

Initially, John Leguizamo, the actor who plays the voice for Sid the Sloth on the animated franchise ‘Ice Age’, confirmed that a 6th installment of the film is on the way. Since then, not much about the project was rolled out until recently.

The movie is officially getting a new name, along with its official release date.

6th ‘Ice Age’ film officially gets a title and release date

On August 30, during the Destination D23 event in Orlando, Florida, the official new name for the new ‘Ice Age’ movie was revealed. The film will be called ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’. Not only that, but it has also been revealed that the film is slated for release on February 5, 2027. Originally, the film was slated to be released on December 18, 2026; however, it has been delayed by around 2 months.As per the makers, the official log line for the upcoming film reads, “Ice Age: Boiling Point is a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World”.

A video teaser announcing the new title was also shared on the movie and production house’s official social media page as well.

More about the upcoming project

Old and beloved cast members have been confirmed to rejoin the new film. Ray Romano will be making his return on the animated screen as the woolly mammoth Manny, and Queen Latifah will take over the role of the mammoth Ellie. John Leguizamo will continue with his role as the dorky character Sid the sloth, while Denis Leary will reprise his role as Diego, the saber-toothed cat. Lastly, Simon Pegg will reprise his role as the eccentric weasel Buck, who lives for the adventure that life has to offer for him.
