iD Foods sets up new manufacturing plant in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Bengaluru-based ready-to-cook Indian foods player, iD Fresh Food, has opened its new automated manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, expanding its production network in India and strengthening its presence in one of its earliest markets.The 40,000 sq ft greenfield facility doubles the company’s production capacity for batter and parotas in Hyderabad, where it has phased out the older plant.The new plant, which employs more than 200 people, may also be used to manufacture chapatis in the future, broadening iD’s product portfolio in the region, the company said.iD Fresh Foods India CEO Rajat Diwaker said Hyderabad is a key market for the company and that the facility will serve not only the city but also nearby regions including Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.

He said with the opening of the new Hyderabad facility, the company now has four owned plants and nine third-party manufacturing units including markets like Vizag, Chennai and Kolkata. The company is planning another third-party unit in Indore, that is expected to begin commercial production next month, while another is planned in Ahmedabad.Global CEO and chairman of iD Fresh Food, PC Musthafa, said the Hyderabad plant reflects the company’s focus on clean-label food, hygiene, technology and sustainability, while also strengthening its supply chain to deliver freshness at scale.

He added that the company aims to build a hyperlocal supply chain without compromising on quality. The plant employs more than 200 people, with 99% of the workforce drawn from the local community.iD said the facility is designed to support employment and skill development in the area. The company added that the plant uses advanced automation, solar energy and water recycling systems to improve hygiene, food safety and environmental performance.
