After a week of sweltering weather, the State can finally expect some relief as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain in a few places across the three regions — North Coastal, South Coastal, and Rayalaseema — from June 11.
While hot and humid weather is likely to continue in some pockets of North Coastal A.P. on June 9, thunderstorm, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, is likely in North Coastal and other parts of the State until June 14. South Coastal A.P. and Rayalaseema may receive heavy rainfall from June 12.
On Sunday, a few places in Rayalaseema received light to moderate rain.
As per information available with the IMD, in the past week, the daytime temperatures at many stations in the State hovered over 40 degree Celsius. This could be because of lower tropospheric South Westerly / Westerly winds prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, the IMD said.
