IND vs ENG 3rd Test: ICC reprimands Indian bowler, fines him 15% of match fee

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been fined 15% of his match fee for his behaviour during Day 4 of the Test match against England at Lord's.Siraj's fiery celebration took center stage on Day 4 after taking the wicket of England opener Ben Duckett.

The bowler celebrated close to the batter and made contact with Duckett as he walked back to the dressing room.

Viral videos of Siraj’s celebration show him celebrating in front of Duckett, staring him down, and also nudging the England batter on his shoulder.

Siraj broke Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to using words, actions, or gestures that can provoke or upset a batter after dismissal.Along with the fine, Siraj has also received one demerit point.

This is his second offence in the last 24 months, taking his total to two demerit points.

However, the player must be cautious about picking up more penalties, as accumulating four or more demerit points within two years converts them into suspension points, which can lead to a ban.The five-match Test series has been filled with several such tense and fiery moments between the two sides.
