India A Men's Hockey Team lost 2-3 to England at Wagener Stadion, Netherlands. Maninder Singh and Uttam Singh scored for India.

The India A Men’s Hockey Team endured their second straight defeat on their European tour, narrowly losing 2-3 to England in a hard-fought encounter held at Wagener Stadion in Amstelveen, Netherlands.

Young Indian forwards Maninder Singh and Uttam Singh found the back of the net for India A, but their efforts weren’t enough to overcome world No. 5 England, who edged the match in a close contest.

Despite the loss, the Indian side showed promise and resilience, continuing to build on the momentum from their earlier wins on tour.

Coach Reflects on Tour Progress

After the match, India A head coach Shivendra Singh emphasized the value of learning from tough games as part of the developmental tour.

“We initially had three really good wins on this tour, and now two really close losses," said Shivendra. “We knew that as the tour progressed, we would face tougher competition and teams. We are now taking each game as it comes and learning from it as we progress."

“We still have three games left against two really good teams and are now looking forward to playing those."

Upcoming Matches

India A will next travel to Antwerp, where they face Belgium on Thursday at 15:30 IST. The team will then head to Eindhoven to conclude their tour with two matches against the Netherlands on July 18 and July 20, before returning to India.
