The development follows an incident where an Iranian ship with Iranian sailors was reportedly torpedoed by the United States after returning from an exercise in Visakhapatnam conducted at India's invitation. India has faced criticism for not being vocal in supporting Iran, a country with longstanding ties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while sharing a platform with the Finland president, emphasised that military actions would not provide permanent solutions and urged dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.
