The government pushed back firmly against suggestions that India was in the grip of a fuel crisis.
The Indian government is not considering curbing exports of refined petroleum products, even as it announced a new three-member committee to address commercial LPG supply complaints from the hospitality sector.
“We have not taken any decision on refined oil export curb," government sources told ANI, repeating the denial twice to scotch what officials described as speculation circulating in the market.
On LPG, the government said oil marketing companies- IndianOil, HPCL and BPCL- would hold direct talks with restaurant associations to understand their supply problems. A committee comprising Executive Directors from all three companies has been constituted to hear grievances from commercial users and reprioritise supply based on genuine requirement.
Officials said the reprioritisation had already yielded results, with domestic LPG production rising 10 percent over the past few days. Fresh consignments of LPG and LNG from multiple sources are expected shortly, sources said.

“We were in crisis earlier but today we are not in any crisis of petroleum products," sources said, adding that Indian refineries were running at full capacity- the same levels as before the Iran-Israel conflict began.
Officials said 70 percent of India’s crude oil is now being sourced from suppliers not routed through the Strait of Hormuz, and credited advance planning for the country’s relative stability. “We entered this disruption better prepared," a source said, adding that India was expected to recover faster than other countries once the crisis subsided.
