Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has said that India has achieved tremendous progress and development during the last 11 years of Narendra Modi’s rule.
Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Tuesday (June 10, 2025), Mr Reddy said India has emerged as the fourth largest economy in the world, surpassing Japan.
In 2014, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, India was 10th largest economy with a GDP of $2.1 trillion. Now, the country has emerged as a $4 trillion economy, and it will become a $5 trillion economy soon, he said.
As many as 25 crore people have come out of poverty during the last nine years. While 29.17% of people were living in poverty during 2013-14, it came down to 11.28% in 2024. The per capita income rose to ₹1,14,710 from ₹68,572,” the Union Minister said.
India’s internal and external security improved significantly under Modi’s rule.
“India has marched ahead on the security front. The country has seen many terror attacks—be it Taj Mahal hotel, the Parliament or Gokul Chat Bhandar or Lumbini Park in Hyderabad. It was a practice for the people to light candles whenever there was a terror attack. Gone are those days. Now, India has proved its capabilities in the fight against terrorism in response to the Pahalgam attack,” he said.
Listing out the achievements of the Modi government, Mr. Kishan Reddy said, “Ram Mandir was constructed. Article 370 was abrogated. Tax devolutions to States have increased to 42% from 32%. During the last 11 years, there was not a single scam, unlike UPA government which was riddled with scams.”
BJP A.P. president Daggubati Purndeswari, BJP leaders P. Nagabhushanam, Tapana Choudhary, Sheik Baji and others were present.
