India hosts MILMEDICON-2025 with focus on trauma care and military medicine reforms

Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Thursday (August 28, 2025) inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025: International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.

The two-day event has been organised by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army).

In his address, Mr. Seth underlined India’s commitment to advancing military medicine through global partnerships, research and respect for the legacy of service. “It is a fitting tribute to our warriors and a crucial step towards future-ready healthcare solutions,” he said.

The conference is focused on innovations, challenges and reforms in military medicine worldwide. Marking the Indian Army’s ‘Year of Reforms’, it is positioned as a strategic initiative to strengthen international cooperation and enhance trauma care capabilities in operational settings.

The event also commemorates the centenary of the Military Nursing Service, honouring a century of exceptional service and the spirit of ‘Nari Shakti’ in combat medical care.

Key deliberations at the conference will cover advanced combat trauma care, AI integration in military healthcare, innovative battlefield response models, and women in combat and leadership roles.

Representatives from over 15 countries, along with senior armed forces dignitaries, civilian experts and academia, are participating through panel discussions, poster sessions and exhibitions, making MILMEDICON-2025 a global platform for strategic dialogue and medical innovation.
