All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday hit out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he offered to advise Prime Minister Narendra Modi on dealing with US President Donald Trump amid a row over escalating tariffs on Indian goods, saying that New Delhi is “not so unfortunate" to take advice from a “war criminal."
The Hyderabad MP was responding to a news report about Netanyahu’s remarks, where he reportedly called Donald Trump his “terrific friend" and suggested he would privately advise the Indian PM on handling the US President.
“India is not so unfortunate that its Prime Minister has to take advice from a war criminal and genocidaire who has an outstanding ICC (International Criminal Court) warrant against him," Owaisi said in a post on X.

He further accused the Israeli leader of genocide of 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza; 20,000 of whom are children killed.
“Netanyahu is responsible for the genocide of 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza; 20,000 of whom are children killed. 1.2 million have been made homeless. 2,000 odd UN employees have been killed and Israel has TWO adverse judgements from ICJ," he added.
Owaisi further urged PM Modi to “stand on the right side of history and not become a passive participant."
The Hyderabad MP has been a consistent critic of Israel’s Gaza offensive launched after the October 2023 Hamas attack.
What Netanyahu Said?
His comments came after Netanyahu said he would give some “advice" to PM Modi on dealing with Trump. Netanyahu said that he would do so privately as both PM Modi and Trump are his “terrific" friends.
“PM Modi and Trump are terrific friends of mine. I would give PM Modi some advice on dealing with Trump, but privately," the Israeli leader reportedly said.
Earlier this week, Trump announced an extra 25% tariff on Indian exports as a ‘penalty’ for continuing to import Russian oil, doubling it to 50% on Indian goods.
