India is poised to emerge as the global healthcare capital, said Prathap C. Reddy, founder-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals and chancellor of Apollo University. Addressing students at Apollo Knowledge City here on Sunday (August 24), Dr. Reddy highlighted the dominance of Indian physicians and surgeons globally, citing that more than 10% of healthcare professionals in the US and up to 30% in the UK are of Indian origin. Dr. Reddy observed that India’s youth, with proper training and guidance, could transform the country into a world leader in healthcare. He said advanced cardiac care and organ transplants, once accessible only abroad, are now available in India.
