The Yamuna River continues to flow above the level mark of 205.33 metres on Sunday (September 7, 2025) morning, following incessant rainfall. The warning mark of the Yamuna for the city is 204.5 metres, while the danger mark is 205.33 metres.

A cloudburst struck Yamuna Valley in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Saturday (September 6, 2025), causing heavy damage in Naugaon area, where debris buried a residential house and muddy waters of a stream entered more than half a dozen homes.

When the cloudburst occurred, several people had already vacated their homes, anticipating danger due to heavy rains in the area.

Parts of Punjab were lashed by rain on Saturday (September 6, 2025), with Ludhiana, which has since the flooding witnessed four deaths, receiving the highest amount of it. 

In all, floods have claimed 46 lives since last month in Punjab..

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday (September 6, 2025) said about 3,000 villages in the state have been affected by the rains the past few weeks.

    CM Nayab Singh Saini meets flood-affected people in Kurukshetra

    Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with affected people in the flood-hit areas of Kurukshetra.

    Sharing an X post yesterday, the Chief Minister said that he met affected families in Jharauli Khurd and Tangor villages.

    He wrote, “I visited the affected areas today to assess the situation caused by heavy rainfall in Kurukshetra district. I met with the families of Jharauli Khurd and Tangor villages in Shahabad to gather information about the condition of their areas and the damage to their crops.”

    He added that the state government is providing all necessary assistance and compensation.

    “To the residents and farmer brothers in the areas of the state struggling with waterlogging, I assure you that the state government stands firmly with you and is ensuring that all necessary assistance, from compensation to other forms of support, is being provided to those affected,” the X post read.

    Yamuna continues to flow above danger mark

    The Yamuna River continues to flow above the level mark of 205.33 metres on Sunday morning, following incessant rainfall.

    The warning mark of the Yamuna for the city is 204.5 metres, while the danger mark is 205.33 metres.

    Evacuation of people starts at 206 metres.

    Drone visuals from Loha Pul and Mayur Vihar showed that the Yamuna River is flowing above the danger level following incessant rainfall.

    Thunderstorm, rain likely in Delhi

    The national capital on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

    Relative humidity was recorded at 86 per cent at 8.30 am.

    The IMD has forecast a thunderstorm with rain during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to settle around 35 degrees Celsius.

    The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 84, in the ‘satisfactory’ category, at 9 am, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
