Rising India star Anahat Singh continued her giant killing spree at the 2025 Canadian Open squash as she knocked out defending champion and world No. 7 Tinne Gilis in straight games to storm into the semifinals on Tuesday. Anahat won 12-11, 11-9, 11-9 and will next face Georgia Kennedy of England on Wednesday.

Delhi’s Anahat Singh, the reigning national champion, had earlier caused an upset when she defeated world No. 20 Melissa Alves of France to enter the quarterfinals of the the USD 96,250 PSA Silver event in Toronto.

Continued her impressive run, the 17-year-old from Delhi, ranked world No. 43, defeated sixth seed Alves 12-10, 12-10, 8-11, 11-2 in a 41-minute battle on Sunday.
