Major Vishal Saxena has listed out the lessons India has to learn from the use of drone as weapons during Operation Sindoor.

India’s drone technology has a long way to go to match the global technologies, including those of China, which remains one of the lessons from Operation Sindoor, Major Vishal Saxena said on Saturday.

Speaking at CNN-News18 Defence Townhall, he stressed on the need to focus on deep technology and navigation systems.

“For India to be able to produce weapon systems that are completely indigenous, which are not just in terms of ammunition that you fire, but deep technology of drones, that is where India needs to focus on. This is one of the lessons that has come out. The main part of the drone isthe  autopilot, or its control system and navigation system. We have realised during Operation Sindoor that this needs extreme focus. In terms of our ability to match world-level technologies or what China uses, we are way way behind. A lot of catching up to do," he said.
