The Indian junior women’s hockey team, coached by Tushar Khandker, will play a five-match series in Canberra to prepare for the FIH World Cup in Santiago, Chile, later this year.

The Indian junior women’s hockey team is preparing for a five-match series in Australia, which coach Tushar Khandker believes will help identify areas for improvement ahead of the FIH World Cup later this year.

The series will be held at the National Hockey Centre in Canberra from September 26 to October 2.

India will face Australia in the first three matches on September 26, 27, and 29, followed by two games against Canberra Chill, a club participating in Australia’s premier domestic competition, the Hockey One League, on September 30 and October 2.

Khandker expressed gratitude for the opportunity to tour Australia, acknowledging it as one of the strongest hockey-playing nations. He emphasized that playing a competitive series against Australia will provide valuable exposure, help identify areas of improvement, and prepare the team for the Junior World Cup challenges later this year.

The Women’s Junior World Cup will be held in Santiago, Chile, in December this year.

Khandker highlighted the hard work put in by players during the training camp, stating that this series will test their preparations. The focus will be on improving match temperament, adapting to different playing conditions, and executing strategies under pressure. He believes this experience will significantly enhance the team’s confidence and readiness for the World Cup.
