Indian travellers can now travel to Argentina without a separate visa — here’s how

Travel to Argentina for Indian travellers is all set to become easier, as some will no longer need to apply for a separate Argentine visa to visit the country. However, there is a catch.

Argentina has eased its travel rules for Indian citizens, making visits to the South American nation easier than before. Under the new regulations, Indian travellers holding valid US tourist visas will no longer be required to apply for a separate Argentine visa. The announcement was made by Mariano Caucino, Argentina’s Ambassador to India, through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He states, “The Argentine Government has eased entry into the country for Indian citizens with US visas.

The resolution published in the Official Gazette allows Indian citizens with tourist visas to enter the United States without needing to apply for an Argentine visa.”

He further described the development as a positive step for bilateral ties and tourism, saying, “This is wonderful news for both Argentina and India. We're ready to welcome more Indian tourists into our wonderful country.”

The measure, published in Argentina’s Official Gazette, is expected to simplify travel procedures, promote tourism, and strengthen cultural and economic links between the two countries.

Indian travelers can now enjoy a visa-free entry process if they already hold a US tourist visa, saving both time and effort when planning a trip to Argentina.

Strengthening bilateral cooperation

Beyond tourism, Argentina and India have also been working closely to expand cooperation in other sectors. Earlier in July, the 2nd Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on Agriculture between India and Argentina was held. From the Indian side, Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, attended virtually, while Mr.

Sergio Iraeta, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, represented Argentina.
