INDORE: A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death over an old rivalry in the Banganga police station area late on Friday night. The victim, identified as Vishal alias Nanu Verma, resident of Bhagirathpura, was rushed to MY Hospital in a critical condition but died during treatment.According to police, Vishal was conscious when he was brought to the hospital and had disclosed details about the assailants to the police while undergoing treatment. Based on his statement, investigators began identifying those involved in the attack.Preliminary investigation has revealed that Vishal and the accused had been at loggerheads for some time. The dispute is believed to have escalated on Friday night when the attackers first confronted him and later stabbed him before fleeing the spot.Police reached the crime scene soon after the incident and launched an investigation. Officials said some of the accused are believed to be juveniles. Raids are being carried out to trace them and their family members are also being questioned to gather information about their whereabouts.CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events and establish the exact motive behind the murder. Police said the circumstances leading to the attack would become clearer after the accused are arrested.ACP Rubina Mizwani said the victim's statement recorded during treatment had provided crucial leads in the case.
