Panaji: While welcoming the GST 2.0 reforms announced by the Centre, Laghu Udyog Bharati’s Goa chapter stressed the need for strong support systems at the state level to ensure small entrepreneurs benefit fully from the changes.State president of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Pallavi Salgaocar, urged state govt to conduct awareness workshops and establish grievance redressal mechanisms at local GST offices. She said these steps are essential for micro and small enterprises, which form the backbone of Goa’s economy, to adapt smoothly to the new regime.“GST 2.0 is a positive step that will ease compliance burdens, improve cash flows, and support the growth of small businesses.
For Goa’s micro, small, and medium enterprises in food processing, tourism, manufacturing, and traditional sectors, these reforms will be a major relief,” said Salgaocar.The new system rationalises tax rates, simplifies compliance, and reduces the frequency of return filings. According to the organisation, these changes will improve competitiveness, encourage job creation, and strengthen the role of small businesses in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
